Alert your hairdressers: Daisy Edgar-Jones has just cut her hair into the perfect layered bob, and it’s the seasonal inspo we needed. Hair stylist George Northwood, who has also worked with Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, debuted the actor’s new look on his Instagram page on 27 September. Her colour looks similar to the bronde balayage she’s been rocking for the last few months, but Northwood has chopped off most of the blonde ends into a classic, layered bob. It also looks as if she has had a colour refresh, with golden baby-lights freshening up the soft brown base colour throughout. If autumn was a hairstyle, this would be it.
Edgar-Jones’s hair has been totally enviable since the moment she shot to fame as Marianne Sheridan in “Normal People” in 2020. Just as Connell’s chain (the necklace worn by Paul Mescal throughout the mini-series) has a fan club in its own right, everybody was desperate to know how to get the “Daisy Fringe”. While the London-born star now admits that she enlisted the help of her flatmate to cut her own fringe after losing out on an acting role before “Normal People”, it was reworked by hair stylist Sandra Kelly on the set of the series.
The 24-year-old has since switched up her hair colour, cut, and style almost as often as she has adopted a new accent for a role. After sporting blonde tips and a general American accent for her character in “Fresh” (in which she starred alongside Sebastian Stan), we saw Edgar-Jones take on a Southern American drawl and darker, longer brunette locks for her role in “Where The Crawdads Sing”. She then returned to a warmer brunette with blonde highlights and took on an Idaho accent to act opposite Andrew Garfield in “Under The Banner of Heaven”. Could this new autumnal bob signal a new project for Egdar-Jones? We hope so! See her choppy bob below.
