Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones has had her fair share of scandals since joining the BBC One show in 2016.
The Russian dancer, 32, who is partnered with swimmer Adam Peaty on the 2021 series, performed a steamy Argentine Tango to In The Night by Fleetwood Mac on Saturday 16 October.
The end of the performance saw Katya jumping into the arms of the Olympian as they spun around before the pair posed at the end of their performance with their chins touching and lips very close to one another.
Meanwhile some fans were left in shock as they thought they saw Olympian Adam appear to try to kiss Katya at the end of the dance.
Sharing their surprise on Twitter, one viewer of the BBC show wrote: “DID ADAM AND KATYA ALMOST KISS?!?!?! #Strictly”.
Another added: “Definitely looked like Adam and Katya were about to kiss at the end of that performance #Strictly”.
Despite viewers’ comments, Adam’s girlfriend Eiri Munro has appeared to have laughed off fans theories in a TikTok video.
But this is not the first time Katya has found herself at the centre of a Strictly controversy. Let’s take a look…

Katya joined the series in 2016 and was partnered with former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls with the politician receiving backlash after finishing in sixth place despite low scores from the judges.
However Ed, 54, who repeatedly missed the dreaded dance-offs due to the public vote, appeared to not be a favourite of former judge Darcey Bussell.
The 52 year old former ballerina appeared on the Chris Evans Radio 2 Breakfast show in 2016 and said Ed would be ‘out’ if the vote was down to her.
But speaking in 2016 about Ed, who received some of the lowest scores on the show, Katya said: “I don’t think he gets nearly enough credit for his dancing. He’s pretty good.”
The biggest scandal Katya has faced was ‘kissgate’ with her celebrity partner, comedian Seann Walsh, 35, in 2018.
Katya and Seann were pictured kissing on a night out in London with the pair later issuing public apologies and claiming it was a one-off mistake which was fuelled by alcohol.
Just days after the pictures emerged, Seann’s then-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries ended her five-year relationship with him in a statement posted on her Twitter.
Seann and Katya also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two where he responded to his split from Rebecca during his chat with host Zoe Ball.
He said: “First of all, I would rather not be having to address this publicly but I feel like I have to.
“I made a mistake which I am very sorry for. You never think about the extent of the damage you’re going to do in the moment of the mistake you’ve made.”
Alluding to his ex, he continued: “I’m not perfect, far from it, our relationship wasn’t perfect, this doesn’t mean I wanted it to end the way that it finally did.”
Meanwhile Katya added: “Yes obviously I apologise and I can’t apologise enough to everyone who it hurt and involved.
“But the main thing for me, me and Neil are absolutely fine and that’s what matters to me the most right now and focusing on my job and doing it as professionally I can.”
Neil and Katya announced their decision to part ways in an emotional statement in September in 2019 after seven years of marriage.
Their breakup came less than a year after Katya was photographed kissing her Strictly dance partner Seann Walsh outside a pub in London.
Months after his split from his dancer wife, Neil opened up about the reason behind his marriage breakdown.
Speaking last year, he explained: “We found that we’d grown apart like people do, so we were like: ‘OK, let’s go our separate ways’. We are lucky that we don’t have kids.
“It had nothing to do with what happened [with Seann].
“We were moving in different directions but we are friends again now. Katya is a great girl and I’ve got nothing bad to say about her.”
However Neil praised the BBC One show for their support throughout the scandal as he said: “Strictly was great to both of us when it happened and we’re both in a good place now. I never thought about quitting. It’s a job I love doing.
“We both just got on and worked. We had a long time together and we are not together now. But we get on well and that’s the important thing.”
Former professional boxer Nicola Adams, 38, and Katya were forced off the competition last year after the professional dancer tested positive for coronavirus.
A statement from BBC bosses confirmed the news as it read: “Nicola Adams and Katya Jones are to leave Strictly Come Dancing after Katya tested positive for COVID-19.”
It went on to explain that Katya was asymptomatic, however the pair, who made history as the first same-sex couple on the show, had to self-isolate separately to ensure they were protecting their fellow co-stars.
Speaking at the time, Katya shared her devastation over the news as she said: “Dancing with Nicola has been an absolute inspiration. She’s given her all each and every week and we were so excited to create more dances in the competition.
“Of course, I’m devastated to leave this way but I’ve made a friend for life and loved every moment of this special journey. I’d like to wish good luck to all the remaining couples!”
