Many people turn to heated rollers to get a bouncy blow-dry, but what if you don’t have them available?
Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan has an inventive way of getting a voluminous look, without professional equipment. Instead of rollers, she uses cardboard toilet paper rolls.
Taking to Instagram to share her make-up routine, the star quickly addresses the elephant in the room and explains why she’s got a toilet roll in her hair.

With the front section of her hair wrapped around the household item, Holly claimed that she “finds it much better than rollers”, and urges fans to not “knock it till you’ve tried it”.
In the short clip, the star is seen wearing her brunette balayage hair in a sleek straight style, with her fringe-section pulled back around the loo roll. She secures it in place with bobby pins, so it doesn’t roll out.
Holly’s hair hack may seem a little odd, but it does actually make some sense. To achieve a bouncy blowdry, many people use large velcro rollers that are very similar in shape and size to toilet rolls.
The upside? Holly’s alternative to standard rollers won’t cost you a penny, but then you probably won’t be heading out to your local Tesco with them in.
It’s no surprise that Holly has been searching for creative ways to get her beauty fix at home.
With salons still shut, professional blow-dries are still off the cards.
Just yesterday the star took to Instagram to vent to fans about her frustrations with the ongoing situation.
“This is just not the life for me,” she said. “I need my brows doing, I need some form of eyelash, I need some form of botox.”
“I look like sh*t 99 per cent of the time.”
The star also revealed that although she is “absolutely obsessed with make-up”, she just can’t bring herself to apply it every day, claiming that taking it off is a “graft” in itself.
Like many of the Geordie Shore girls, Holly is known for looking super-glam at all times, so it’s a surprise to see the star taking a more natural approach in lockdown.
