Fitness guru Emily Skye runs her own successful exercise app and boasts 2.5 million followers on Instagram.

But there are some drawbacks to being in the spotlight.

Ever since she gave birth to her son Izaac seven months ago, the 36-year-old has been bombarded with vile comments from trolls.

While some body shamed the mum-of-two as she recovered from pregnancy, others have sent disgusting messages about her baby.

Emily told news.com.au : “One lady wrote ‘I hope your baby dies’.

“And as much as what she said was hurtful and pissed me off, I thought she must be in pain herself or something must have happened because her prior messages were nice — she would tell me I have such a lovely bond with my daughter and ask if I have had Izaac yet.”

Emily is understandably upset by the hateful messages she receives.

She said: “I am irritated, frustrated and hurt — all those natural human responses, but then I go OK, let’s take control now, I am not going to let them bring me down.

“I practise deep breathing, it helps calm me down and I think about it; that they are coming from a place of pain and not thinking clearly.”

Instead of letting the comment about her baby get to her, she calmly responded: “I hope you are OK, sending love.”

The fitness star has to practice the same restraint when she gets horrible comments about her body.

Back in December, Emily addressed trolls who told her she “ruined” her body by having kids.

In a candid Instagram post, she wrote: “RIP fit body, yuck, your body is ruined, so much cellulite, reminds me to never have kids’ – Just some of the comments I’ve been receiving about my post-partum body…

“You know what though? I’d rather it come from others than myself. What I think of myself and constantly tell myself is FAR more important than what others think and say to me.

“I’ve said this before – I LOVE my body so much and am grateful for everything it has done for me and my kids!

“I made a promise to myself the day I gave birth to my son Izaac (on my lounge room floor by the way) that if I were to ever have negative thoughts about my body I’d remind myself of what it’s done for me and how blessed I am.”

Emily added that she uses online hate as motivation instead of taking it to heart.

She explained: “I know these people are being far from constructive and their only goal is to hurt me.

“I always try to turn a negative into positive though and I’m using them as motivation.

“So thank you nasty people, instead of bringing me down you’ve only made me stronger, more determined & more resilient.

“⁣⁣⁣I WILL be fit and strong again because I want to and I’m doing it for myself on my OWN terms. I’m feeling better, stronger and fitter every single day!”

Emily’s post seems to have resonated with other mums as it’s garnered more than 95,000 likes.

One responder wrote: “You look amazing!! Your body created two miracles and you are 100% inspiration to mamas who may be doubting themselves.

“Thank you for always being positive!!”

And a second added: “The fact that people say this let alone think it is disturbing. Glad you’re not listening because it’s rubbish!

“You’re gorgeous inside and out.”
