Who is Peter Ash?
Peter Ash is a 35-year-old actor from Manchester.
He first began acting in school plays and am dram theatre groups.
He joined Coronation Street back in 2018 cast in the role of Paul Foreman.
Paul is gay man, whereas Peter is straight.
However. recently the actor has to defend his right to the role on Twitter after Its A Sin creator Russell T Davis was outspoken about how only gay actors should play gay people as “it’s about authenticity”.
In response Peter tweeted: “Acting; the art or occupation of performing fictional roles in plays, films or television.”
What else has Peter Ash been in?
Peter has been in many acting roles prior to securing his part on the Cobbles.
You may recognise him from TV shows including Footballers Wives, Casualty and Blue Murder, or more recently he played Ron on Hollyoaks.
However speaking to The Mirror last year Peter explained that the road to his role in Corrie was not without hiccups.
He said: “In between Footballers’ Wives and Corrie I was what you’d call a jobbing actor really.
“I had some amazing acting jobs, but they were here and there spread out.
“In between I was doing day jobs like bar work, working in call centres.
“Most of the time as an actor you are out of work. That is why I feel so lucky now to be involved in this show.”
