I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 kicks off in just a matter of days time.
Like clockwork the hit show will return to ITV on Sunday November 15, however, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic things will be very different.
Earlier this year it quickly became clear that the usual plan of flying out cast and crew to Australia’s east coast and setting up camp in the jungle would not be possible.
Instead, producers have thought outside the box and this year’s show will take place in Wales at Gwrych Castle.
Due to the dramatically different temperatures in Wales to Aus, new camp uniforms have been created to keep campmates warm.
While the average temperature in Australia for November is between 20 and 24°C, Wales is a chilly 7.3°C.
As a result all contestants will now be given a red puffer gilet to keep them warm.
Each gilet will have their name and voting number on the back.
Encouraged to layer up against the elements, they will also be given blue long tops and shirts to wear.
Completing their outfits will be a pair of thick red trousers.
On Sunday night the official I’m A Celeb 2020 line-up was revealed.
The first batch of campmates are Team GB Olympic legend Mo Farah, Corrie’s Beverley Callard, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, EastEnders actress Jessica Plummer, Strictly’s AJ Pritchard, presenter Vernon Kay, author Giovanna Fletcher, West End star Ruthie Henshall and EastEnders Shane Richie.
Paralympian Hollie Arnold and tenor Russell Watson complete the initial 2020 line-up as well as presenter Victoria Derbyshire.
As usual, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will return to host the show.
Speaking about the extensive measures bosses have put in place to make sure the series is Covid safe, ITV Studios entertainment director Richard Cowles said: “On a Covid level, everyone’s got proximity monitors on them so basically they can’t come within two metres of each other without it buzzing and flashing and reminding them to step away.
“The key thing is we create the safest possible workplace for crew, cast and our hosts.”
