In July, Fisher, who plays Cyborg in the DC adventure, claimed that director Joss Whedon’s treatment of the 2017 film’s cast was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” and that DC had dismissed his complaints about the situation.

While Momoa had previously hinted at his support for Fisher, on Monday (14 September) night, the Aqua Man actor posted an expletive-filled rant about his personal experiences on Justice League as he called for a further investigation into the cast’s treatment.

Sharing a picture of Fisher and him at Comic Con, Momoa wrote: “THIS S*** HAS TO STOP AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. @ray8fisher AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO EXPERIENCED WHAT HAPPEN [sic] UNDER THE WATCH OF @wbpictures NEEDS PROPER INVESTIGATION.”

The actor then claimed that an announcement made back in July that he would be starring in Warner Bros’ live-action remake of Frosty the Snowman was released without his permission “to try to distract from Ray Fisher speaking up about the s***ty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots”. Both Fisher’s comments and the announcement were made on 1 July.

“Serious stuff went down. It needs to be investigated and people need to be held accountable,” Momoa wrote adding the hashtag: “#IStandWithRayFisher.”

The Independent has contacted Warner Bros and Whedon’s representatives for comment.

Whedon, who took over directing Justice League from Zack Snyder following the death of his daughter, is yet to comment on Fisher’s allegations.

An initial investigation into the claims was launched by Warner Bros in August. In response to more allegations made by Fisher in August, the studio responded that the actor had declined to meet with an investigator and was primarily disappointed with his storyline in the film.

Fisher responded that he had met with the investigator over Zoom on 26 August, accusing Warner Bros of a “desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power”.
