Ashley Banjo is leader of the dance troupe Diversity, who found fame after winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.
The 6 foot 4 inch star, recently returned to the hit ITV talent show as a guest judge and also took to the stage to perform an emotional and brilliantly choreographed Black Lives Matter-inspired performance.
During the semi-final on 5 September the dancer and his street dance group showcased a routine which served as a commentary on both the coronavirus pandemic and the racial injustices that have been brought into the spotlight after the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, in America.

So far the performance has received nearly 22,000 Ofcom complaints, which is up from 15,000 at the end of last week.
Ashley, 31, has since spoken out to say that the racism he has received as a consequence “makes every single second of that performance and every single complaint worth it.”
Thankfully for the star, he has a great support network in the form of his gorgeous wife Francesca and his two sweet children.
Let’s take a look inside the inspiring star’s family life…
Who is Ashley Banjo’s wife?
Ashley Banjo’s wife is called Francesca Abbott and she is a dancer, as well as a showbiz industry professional.
The blonde beauty works as a talent manager for DBA group.
Alike to her husband, Francesca is also part of a dance troupe, having performed with Out Of The Shadows.
On the all female group’s Facebook page it reads: “Out Of The Shadows have the same work ethos and history as the guys of Diversity, and they are choreographed by Ashley Banjo, lead dancer and choreographer of Diversity.
“Their performance is dynamic, entertaining and most importantly, memorable.”
They have performed at many events and also worked for brands including Adidas and River Island.
How long have Ashley and Francesca been together?
Ashley and Francesca have been together for over 15 years, with their first date happening in 2005, and it sounds adorable.
The Dancing On Ice Judge revealed on Instagram last year: “14 years ago I couldn’t drive, so I took this girl on a date to the science museum to try and make her laugh and impress her with how much I knew about the nerdiest subjects possible instead.”
When did Ashley and Francesca marry?
The happy couple tied the knot in 2015, in a gorgeous Essex ceremony surrounded by many famous faces including, of course, members of Diversity.
Although they have been together a long time the pair’s romance shows no signs of slowing down.
Back in February the star shared a gushing Valentine’s tribute to his wife to Twitter.
He wrote: “Another #valentines day with this one @francescabanjo!
“Not a big fan of all the presents and cards to be honest…
“But it is on days like today I realise just how lucky I am. She’s not only my wife but my best friend.
“And among other things she’s also a PA, an honest opinion, a lost property detector, an oven for babies, an OCD pillow plumper and a life-size hot water bottle.
“Most of which she can do at once! Love her more than she knows.”
Do Ashley and Francesca have children?
The dancers are proud parents to two children; a one-year-old daughter called Rose and a baby son called Micah Grace.
Micah was born in March, at the start of lockdown, and Ashley shared the news on Instagram explaining his birth was a “ray of light”.
The star wrote: “On Thursday the 26th March at 6.45pm our son came into the world weighing a healthy 8lbs 15oz. His name is Micah Grace Banjo…
“Our son, our little ray of light in a dark and uncertain time. @francescabanjo and I love him with the deepest part of our hearts.”
With two under two the parents are undoubtedly kept very busy!
