EastEnders star James Bye was chatting to Lorraine on Thursday morning to discuss the return of the BBC soap when he was interrupted by his adorable children.
The Martin Fowler actor appeared on Lorraine to chat about EastEnders making its return to screens after months away, as well as his character’s romance with Ruby Allen.
However, as the 36 year old chatted to Lorraine Kelly, his two young sons invaded the area and wandered into the shot.
The dad-of-three picked up one of his boys onto his knee, while his other son asked him to pick him up.
Referring to the cute interruption, James explained: “This is what it’s been like, Lorraine, for three months.”
Host Lorraine gushed over the youngsters, however, as she said: “They’re absolutely gorgeous.”
Setting the boys back down, James said: “I’ll let them charge around now, they’re watching Peppa Pig and all sorts.”
James and his wife Victoria are parents to sons Edward and Louis and little Hugo, one.
The actor and the rest of the EastEnders cast are returning to screens after months off air due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He opened up on how the cast and crew are now working on set with social distancing, and how he and co-star Louisa Lytton are getting around those kissing scenes.
He said: “I’m relieved, excited. We’re all just happy to be back doing what we love. Hopefully people will appreciate the hard work the team has done.
“We’re really strict. At no point is anybody, including crew, any closer than two metres, so things like kissing which Louisa and I have had to do, but thanks to the amazing team, we’ve got some camera magic going on.”
Lacey Turner is returning to the show as Martin’s estranged wife, Stacey Fowler, where she will find out that Martin and her best friend Ruby are dating.
“Characters have been living like everyone else over three months,” James said.
“People have changed during lockdown. That’s a journey people will learn as the show restarts.
“With Martin and Ruby, I don’t think the audience saw them together, just a bit of flirtation, now they’re in a relationship where they’re all loved up and they’ve got a bit of a journey to go on.”
