EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami has been axed from the soap after six years of playing Kush Kazemi.
The 38 year old actor is said to be leaving the soap in a “huge plot” in 2021, with a number of “major storyline peaks” before his exit.
A TV insider close to the soap said: “Bosses have a huge plot planned but although Davood was told in January, his departure it is not for a very long time yet in fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021.
“It’s a shame and he will be missed by everyone at Elstree but sometimes the cost of having a big storyline means losing big characters.”

Meanwhile a spokesperson has confirmed to OK! online that Davood will be leaving the soap next year.
They said: “We can confirm Davood will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end next year. Davood has been a wonderful addition to EastEnders and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Head of BBC Continuing Drama Kate Oates stated: “Davood is a fantastic actor and a hugely popular company member, so we will miss him hugely.”
Davood’s exit storyline is yet to be revealed and it’s unknown if the door will be left open for him to return.
Davood’s character Kush has had an eventful six years on Albert Square, from his ex wife Shabnam Masood suffering a miscarriage to his brother Shaki being brutally murdered in a heartbreaking storyline in 2018.
Since Shaki’s death Kush’s mother Carmel, played by Bonnie Langford, left the square and Kush has struck up a romance with Kat Slater and now lives in the Slater household.
Kush’s upcoming exit from Albert Square is one of many, as Jake Wood and Amar Adatia, who plays Jags Panesar, recently revealed they are leaving the soap.
Amor recently revealed he is leaving in an explosive final storyline after his contract was extended over lockdown.
Speaking about his exit, Amar said: “I can’t share too much about what happens but it serves to further prove just how far Suki will go to get her way!
“Jags went against her and being the strong women she is, just like their father in the past, anyone that goes against her doesn’t tend to fare so well.”
Jags has been secretly dating Habiba Ahmed throughout lockdown, and recently began to turn against his family’s somewhat sketchy goings on.
Actor Amar explained he has been on the soap for longer than planned: “With timings all pushed back, I was more than happy stay a little bit longer to make sure that we wrapped up Jags’ storyline properly.”
Amar is set to appear in a boxing movie next year, which he needs to train for.
