Although it feels like summer had barely begun this year, and our spring/summer outfits didn’t get much show time, Autumn is now upon us and it’s time to start looking at some new season wardrobe must-haves to keep you looking right on trend.

So what should you be investing in for Autumn/Winter?

The answer is plenty of colours from metallics to jewel tones, to gorgeous toffee shades.

We’re loving that we’re also seeing lilac as a key colour still, that you can take through from spring/summer into the autumn months.

When it comes to shapes, we’re seeing lots of oversized styles, especially with knitwear and coats, and of course the LBD which is perfect for the party season ahead.

Some poplar trends from AW19 like giant bags and waist belts have remained for this season, which isn’t a surprise as they are stunning statement pieces.

There are a number of trends that we can’t wait to start shopping, so lets take a look at five of the seasons newest trends and show you just how to wear them.

Toffee tones

Faux Leather Trousers £29.99 Zara

Neutral tones is a trend that isn’t going anywhere for AW20, and we’re loving it. Especially shades of toffee, caramel and biscuit.

You can mix and match a variety of brown shades to create a classic timeless look, layer latte blouses with chocolate colour skirts and add an oversized camel coat to finish the look.

Oversized bag

Everyone is in need of an extra large bag you can fit your whole world in. It’s an autumn wardrobe essential. We’re not just talking large shopper styles, we’re seeing woven beach bags and check totes. Perfect addition to any wintery look.

Lilac

Lilac has been given a fresh and surprising twist for autumn, it can be worn for a head to toe look if you want to make a statement, or you can mix key pieces in like shoes or shirt with neutral tones and lighter shades to give a more subtle nod to the trend.

Elevated knitwear

Knitwear has had a revamp this season, we’ve seen many designers who have re invented the boring jumper – including Christopher Kane and Isabel Marant, by creating gorgeous knitwear separates using strategically placed cut out details, with 80’s inspired slouchy fits and return of the jumper dress. What’s no to love?

Oversized cape coat

The bigger the better, that’s all the style advice you need when shopping for your AW coat this year. Opt for a cape style shape to keep your look oversized and cool.
