Jenny Ryan has hit back at a The Chase viewer who branded her the “weakest chaser” in an online post.
The 38-year-old television star, known as The Vixen, responded to a viewer who said she was the “worst” Chaser on the quizzing programme.
Jenny’s reply came after the social media user tweeted: “Jenny from The Chase is the worst out of them all honestly.
“#thechase obviously she’s smart and knows a lot of stuff, but compared to the rest, she’s the weakest out of the bunch @jenlion.”
Jenny saw their remark and decided to call out the viewer for their mean words.
She shared their comment and added in a tweet to her 79,000 followers: “Y’all are entitled to an opinion (even if it’s not entirely correct) but tagging the subject is just deliberately trying to be cruel.
“And anyway, if the worst you can say is that I’m in the top 6 UK Chasers, that’s still a pretty amazing achievement. Go me!”
Jenny’s devoted followers rushed to show Jenny support after she received the online hate.
One wrote: “I don’t understand why people keep tagging you in mean tweets like this.
“I wish people would stop doing it because it’s just horrible. I’m sorry people keep doing this. Xx.”
While another penned: “It’s not even true. Guy needs to educate himself.”
A concerned viewer then asked The Vixen: “Do you really take this kind of s**t seriously? A bunch of nobody people watching you on television with an invalid opinion?
“I just don’t get why you bother getting upset. You are the winner whichever way you cut it.”
Jenny, who starred in The X Factor: Celebrity, replied: “I didn’t say I was upset.
“Exasperated, maybe? Fed up of having to explain Twitter etiquette. The emotion is best described by this gif,” which was followed by a gif of herself on the hit show rolling her eyes.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
