Who doesn’t hope their little one will blossom to do great things in life?
We all do and there’s nothing like seeing your child grow up to become smart and successful.
Now according to one child education expert, even very young kids can show signs of being a genius.
Simon Barnes, former teacher and founder of online tuition firm TLC LIVE, says there are seven signs to look out for.
From their circle of sophisticated friends to their creativity, the expert reckons these are important factors.
But of course, each child is different so it’s important to bear that in mind with what Simon has to say.
He explained: “Every child is different, each with their own personality and strengths.
“This also applies to students with the potential for high levels of intelligence. We see genius in all different walks of life.
“Some people consider Cristiano Ronaldo to be a genius, others thing the same of Stormzy.”
Here are the seven telltale signs that prove your child could be a genius.
Whether it’s a new practical skill or expanding what they already know, your child will pick things up fast.
Also they will be keen to work things out for themselves.
They don’t give up
In some cases the gifted children can come across as perfectionists.
Alongside high standards, they will often show incredible perseverance.
If their classmates are not able to reach the standards they expect, it could lead to frustration.
It’s one of the reasons students working at a higher level are constantly challenged and engaged to prevent frustration.
They’re not good at everything
These kids will have a lot of interests – but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll strive in everything they do.
It’s more that they’re always keen to try new things and have a long attention span.
The gifted kids will often show a higher level of creativity but not just with art or music.
It could include voices of authority and how the child solves problems or the amount of imaginary play they engage in.
These students often appear to be more grown up than their fellow classmates and might show signs of wanting older friends.
And their sense of humour might be a little different or more grown-up too.
Being independent is very important and if your child shows these signs, it could mean they’re a genius.
They may also display signs of boredom or disengagement when looking at a topic they don’t agree with.
