Amazon has launched an ‘end of summer’ sale which will include many flash deals. In his latest MoneySavingExpert.com Money Tips email, Martin Lewis has given advice for those looking to make a purchase.
As well as the main deals, the retailer will bring out ‘lightning deals’ that may last just a few hours.
While the discounts can be great for those who know what they want, Martin explained customers should be careful before buying.
He said: “The online retail giant is offering daily reductions until Monday, including a half-price Echo Plus speaker.
“It’s offering daily deals until Monday, we’ve also spotted a £95 kids’ Fire tablet (normally £140) and £110 Fitbit Versa Lite (normally £150). But it really is a mixed-bag.”
The expert explained some offers are better than others and shoppers should look out for the best savings.
For example, products including the kids’ Fire tablet, at £95, appear to be selling for an all time low price.
However, items such as the Echo Dot speaker, down from £49.99 to £29.99, were cheaper in the latest Amazon sale in July.
Martin gave his top tips on what to do before making a purchase in a sale.
He explained Britons should only buy items that they actually need to avoid wasting money.
“Don’t allow yourself to be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford,” the expert said.
“Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you’re getting the best deal.”
