Emmerdale’s Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) is left fearing for her life in episodes airing next week, when the mystery attacker returns once again.
An unknown man turns up looking for her after apparently finding her on a dating site, though Leyla is left confused by the situation.
She invites him into the office, believing he was an appointment that she had forgotten about, but it soon becomes clear that everyone has their wires crossed.
After he leaves though, Leyla finds herself in danger when a masked assailant comes at her.
Leyla manages to land a blow on the mystery person and before long the penny drops on who it could be.
Actress Roxy Shahidi told Daily Star Online: “There’s been a few things and I think she does put them all together quite quickly and fear that it’s all part of a bigger picture, because she’s had these really bad reviews which she suspected Kim for, then suddenly for this guy to turn up.
“She obviously didn’t put herself on this on this website so that’s happened, then also the fact her diary has gone missing, she can’t access her online diary.
“It’s just lots of little things that are very personal, you would’ve had to be in the office to access the computers, you’d have to know her quite personally in order to get that image and put her on the dating website.
“And you’d also had to have a lot of animosity, so I think she puts it all together quite quickly and she’s got no idea as to who it is and why it’s happened. It’s a very unnerving time for her.”
Speaking of the latest attack, Roxy said: “That’s the climax of the scary events. I don’t think there could be anything more intimidating than going into a space that you think you’re safe and someone being there.
“Her first thought is, ‘They want to hurt me, were they there to hurt me?’
“One of the things she says to Liam is she’s scared that someone’s going to stab her in her bed, literally those words, because every part of her world is being invaded.
“So of course it’s terrifying and it’s very real to have someone in your space like that, but she does defend herself, she does throw something at them, she doesn’t just cower in the corner.
“But she’s definitely terrified and very scared.”
Emmerdale aren’t revealing who the attacker is until the episodes air, however Roxy has teased a revenge plan for Leyla.
She told us: “Given the right set of circumstances she can be a very giving and understanding person but equally she will stick up for herself and isn’t just going to be walked all over, won’t always run from a fight.
“So once she finds out she’ll act accordingly depending on who that person is.”
Emmerdale currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV
