Linda Henry has broken down after revealing she hasn’t been able to see her grandson as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 57 year old, who is known for portraying the tough character Shirley Carter on the popular BBC soap EastEnders, couldn’t hold back the tears as she discussed her two year old grandson on Monday’s Secrets From The Square.
Host Stacey Dooley, who looked gorgeous in a navy long-sleeved top, kicked the show off by asking Linda and her co-star Luisa Bradshaw-White: “What have you been doing in lockdown?”

Linda, who donned a pink jumper with a pair of ripped jeans and Converse trainers, replied: “I’ve just been at home with my husband and my dog Johnny.”
The star then took a deep breath in as she continued: “And really wishing – my grandson… I just really…” before she turned to Luisa, who plays her onscreen sister Tina, and added: “Don’t get me going…”
Linda then stopped talking as she attempted to compose herself while crying as she told Stacey that her grandson is two years old.
Luisa, 45, smiled as she explained that Linda often gets emotional as she said: “She cries about everything.
“You do, you always cry – you’re so sensitive.”
Linda continued to choke up at select parts of the interview when scenes from early episodes played, which lefts fans in complete shock at how different the actress is from her EastEnders character.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “I can’t get over how different @Lindahenry is from her character Shirley @bbceastenders @11syoung”.
Another said: “omg i wanna give linda henry a massive hug, poor woman is an emotional wreck”. [sic]
While a third echoed: “The fact that Linda Henry is this sweet and sensitive is making 2020 ok #SFTS #EastEnders”.
Luisa went on to reveal that Linda also cried when she found out what her character Shirley would be going through when the soap opera returns to screens next month.
Linda said: “The past comes back to bite Shirley on the bum,” as Luisa added: “It’s a really exciting storyline, she [Linda] cried!”
Turning back to Linda to address her directly, she added: “Because you do cry.
“She gets really emotional.”
