Soko Glam’s New Skin-Care Line Is Based on a Ton of Science and Customer Input featured image

Ever wish you could create a skin-care line that takes your own personal beauty preferences—plus intel on what a whole lot of other people have tried—and package it into an easy-to-use full skin-care regimen?

Soko Glam—the innovative K-Beauty digital platform—has answered the call with the release of its first exclusively owned brand, Good (Skin) Days (bonus: it’s affordable, too). The line has taken millions of customer reviews, needs and ingredient feedback from its website and turned it into what cofounder Charlotte Cho says is “the culmination of what we’ve cultivated over the past eight—it’s our philosophy and our brand story.” Here’s a breakdown:

1. A New Leaf Cream Cleanser, $16

I’ve tried too many skin-care products to count, but the category I find myself constantly disappointed in is cleansers. I have combination skin (oily in the T-zone and dry around the sides of my face) so a balancing cleanser that decreases oiliness, but hydrates is ideal. Typically, I’ll stick with a gel cleanser—at least I thought that’s what my skin needed to be its most perfect self—but when I tried this creamy, extra-smooth foaming face wash, I immediately knew I needed to switch it up.

Formulated with a blend of fermented green tea, spinach, celery and crushed mugwort, it gently exfoliates (which aids in relieving flaky skin), while washing away the day’s oil and grime, without stripping the skin. Enlarged pores have always been high on the list in terms of my insecurities—yes, that means staring at them in the magnifying mirror and praying that they would magically vanish. The past few weeks, however, I have been astonished by their perplexing decrease in size, along with the fact that I’ve gotten more compliments on my even complexion than ever before.

2. C’s The Day Serum, $26

If you can buy only one item from the line, do yourself a favor and add this serum to your cart. Formulated with 10-percent pure vitamin C, licorice root extract and niacinamide—the triple threat for diminishing dullness, evening the skin tone and minimizing the appearance of pores—the formula also includes camu camu, a potent, cherry-like fruit that contains 40X more vitamin C than a single orange.

Before trying this line, I was on the hunt for the perfect product to give me luminous, Insta-worthy skin. It only took one week of using this serum to notice a glow that truly looks like it’s coming from within. Since then, I’ve not only said good-bye to my foundation, but makeup, in general, has been low on my priority list.

3. On The Bright Side Moisturizer, $24

Because I have combination skin, I prefer to use breathable moisturizers during the day and heavier ones at night. The On The Bright Side Moisturizer is very light, which makes it perfect for wearing underneath makeup or sunscreen. If I’m going for a natural glam, I apply this first and I look dewy all though the day—but, if you’re on the oily side, it might make your skin appear just a bit too shiny.

Rice ferment—otherwise known as sake—keeps the skin hydrated and probiotics balance the skin’s microbiome. The addition of ceramides bolster the skin’s barrier function to keep it protected and healthy—I can truly feel the ingredients going to work on my face (and it has a nice cooling sensation when applied).

4. Prime time Cleansing Toner, $18

Coming in late July, the antioxidant-rich, skin-plumping Prime Time Cleansing Toner is enriched with Damascus rose water and maple extract—two anti-inflammatory must-haves that both soothe and nourish the skin. Also included in the mix is papaya enzymes and pumpkin, which exfoliate to reveal a smooth, just-had-a-facial complexion.
