The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released two new photos of Prince George to mark the royal’s seventh birthday.
The images, shared on Tuesday ahead of Prince George’s birthday on 22 July, were taken by Kate Middleton earlier this month.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share two new photographs of Prince George ahead of his seventh birthday tomorrow,” a statement from Kensington Palace read.

Sharing the full story, not just the headlines
In the first photo, the couple’s eldest child can be seen smiling as he poses against a green backdrop while dressed in an olive green collared shirt. In the second, more-candid photo, Prince George wears a camo-printed T-shirt and appears to be on a sports field.
The photos were also shared on the official Kensington Royal Instagram account, where the couple wrote: “Sharing a [camera emoji] taken by The Duchess ahead of Prince George’s seventh birthday tomorrow!”
Royal fans took the opportunity to offer their birthday wishes to the royal and remark on how big he has grown.
“Happy Birthday Prince George! How fast has he grown, I still remember waiting for his birth and watching his parents bring him out for us all to see,” one person commented.
Another said: “Awww! Happy birthday to Prince George! Can’t believe how big he’s gotten.”
The duchess regularly shares photos she has taken of her three children to mark special occasions such as their birthdays. In May, Kensington Palace released four new photographs of Princess Charlotte taken by her mother to celebrate her fifth birthday.
In the photos, Charlotte, the Cambridges’ middle child, can be seen helping deliver food to the elderly amid the coronavirus pandemic.
