Johnny Depp ‘s libel trail was shown a snap of Amber Heard ‘s red face which she claims is her injury after he attacked her.
Heard alleges the Hollywood legend, 57, “threw a phone at her” and “smashed objects” during a blazing row a their penthouse in May 2016.
The High Court in London was shown a snap of her alleged injuries yesterday.
Depp denies claims he was physically violent towards Heard and is suing NGN over an article that appeared in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a “wife beater”.
Depp’s lifelong friend Isaac Baruch was called to give evidence and described the photographs as “phoney baloney”.
He said there were no signs of any marks, scratches, swelling or bruises on Heard’s face after the alleged attack.
He said: “In all the years I’ve known Mr Depp, I have never once seen him commit an act of violence.”
Baurch said in his witness statement: “She told me that he hit her in the face and threw a phone at her.”
Lawyers for NGN are defending their case based on Heard’s 14 allegations of abuse, which include claims of bust-ups between 2013 and 2016.
The actor has argued his ex-wife was abusive towards him during the marriage, which she denies.
Earlier this week, Depps security guard of seven years Travis McGivern has claimed he saw Heard be physically violent towards the Hollywood actor.
Cross examining him, Wass QC acting on behalf of The Sun said: “You are lying about your description in order to assist Mr Depp who was extremely angry and extremely violent on that occasion?”
McGivern replied: “No maam. I’m not lying.”
Amber Heard is The Sun’s star witness in the case.
The case will continue next week.
