And instead of throwing a big social distancing party or celebration, Gisele Bundchen has decided to rather give back to the community.
The 39-year-old took to social media on Saturday to reveal she was planting 40,000 trees – a special gift for Mother Earth.

‘As some of you know, my birthday is coming up on July 20th. And it’s not just any birthday! I can’t believe I am turning 40!’ she began.
‘I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is starting, and I wanted to celebrate it in a meaningful way, so I decided to plant 40,000 trees.’
She continued: ‘I have been planting trees for different projects for years, as I feel that this is the best way I know to give back to Mother Earth.

‘This year, to celebrate my birthday, my family and I had planned to plant trees in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil but, as we all know, that is not possible right now.’
She continued: ‘Then I had another thought! What if I could come up with a way for others to help me plant trees there?’
The Brazilian supermodel added that she had also got her family and friends on board in helping her reach her 40,000 birthday goal.
‘I’ve already talked to my family and my friends—and they will all turn their gifts into trees. That way, we can all help give something back to our planet.’

Back in April, Gisele shared another shot of herself doing yoga with her youngest child, as part of Vogue’s June/July issue that had 150 contributors share what they had been doing in self-isolation from COVID-19.
‘I feel this is a very important time to go inward and reflect on what is most important,’ noted the 39-year-old Brazilian.
‘I have been reflecting a lot on my life; on how I can be the best version of myself and share, with others, things that have helped me,’ said the Devil Wears Prada actress.
‘Taking time to meditate, working out, doing breathwork when I feel more anxious, and spending quality time with my kids. My daughter, Vivi, is in this photo with me!’
