An interiors lover with a flair for design has given her kitchen a dreamy transformation using paint and vinyl.
Beth, 40, a pharmaceutical sales rep from County Durham disliked her outdated kitchen – but didn’t want to spend a fortune on a new one.
Luckily, she’d spotted some fab DIY jobs on her Facebook feed and decided to try it for herself.
Beth posted a series of stunning before-and-after photos to her social media –and DIY -enthusiasts were impressed.
In the snaps, her boring pale wood kitchen was turned into a stylish space with grey units and a colourful floor.
And, she managed it all for £205.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, Beth said: “I hated my kitchen and wanted a new one that I couldn’t afford.
“I saw all the amazing successful transformations on Facebook, where people have just painted their cupboards.
“I was inspired by all the stories and pictures in the DIY on a Budget UK group.”
Beth rolled up her sleeves and gave her kitchen a DIY makeover.
She said: “The cupboards took two days, two coats of paint and drying time, including the time to take them all off and put them all back on.
“The flooring took just 15 mins to fit, but due to lockdown the flooring took six weeks to arrive.
“Originally, it should have been delivered on the day after I finished painting so it should have taken three days in total.”
Beth used Wilko’s kitchen cupboard paint in Slate Grey which cost £34.
She also chose the Carpet Right vinyl flooring in a pattern called “Mardi Gras”.
On Facebook, the post was a hit.
It racked up nearly 800 likes and 170 comments.
One person said: “Wow – what a difference, that looks amazing!”
Another added: “Fab! That Lino is super good.”
While a third wrote: “It’s like an entirely new kitchen, and I love the shade on the cupboards.
“I’m not a grey lover, but this is a nice, dark charcoal grey. And, I’m super jealous of the floors!”
If you want to try something similar, Beth gave her top advice.
She told us: “Just go for it.
“Make sure you have enough room to put the doors on the floor whilst you paint them – and don’t let your puppy stand on them whilst they are covered in wet paint.
“Someone on the group used a clothes horse to lay their doors on to dry – absolute genius and I wish I’d seen that first!!
“Sugar soap and clean everything thoroughly first and you’re good to go.”
Amazing – we’re super impressed by the gorgeous finish on Beth’s kitchen.
You can buy the Carpet Right vinyl for £17.99 per metre squared – and it looks fantastic.
