Benjamin Keough, the only son of Lisa Marie Presley, has died, it has been confirmed. Those close to Lisa Marie shared a statement about their shock at the young man’s death. Since then, many fans have speculated as to how the young man died, but now coroners have confirmed what happened.
How did Benjamin Keough die?
Coroners have now revealed Benjamin’s cause of death as suicide, caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office ruled his death a suicide on Tuesday, July 14.
The 27-year-old died at his mother Lisa-Marie Presley’s home in the early hours of Sunday, July 12.
Speaking on Benjamin’s mother Lisa Marie Presley’s behalf, her manager Roger Widynowski, said: “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley.
“She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”
Benjamin was not a public figure in the way his mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and his sister, actress Riley Keough, are.
However, the 27-year-old was often commented on due to his strong resemblance to his grandfather, Elvis Presley.
Lisa Marie and Danny already had a daughter together, Danielle Riley Keough, born May 29, 1989 and who is known professionally in the acting world as Riley Keough.
Danny and Lisa Marie split up not long after that, after which point Lisa Marie was married to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.
In 2006 Lisa Marie married for the fourth time to director Michael Lockwood, with whom she had twin girls Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love on October 7, 2008.
Lisa Marie sought a divorce from Michael in 2016.
