With multigenerational travel on the rise, villas that can accommodate full families are becoming more and more in demand. Additionally, due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, travel agency networks like Travel Leaders Group are suggesting villa and private property options, providing travelers the opportunity to get out of their home but in a more controlled environment. In that case, these new villas, scattered across the globe, could be of interest.

In South Africa, The Residence by Atzaro, Cape Town opens its doors in May 2020. The seven-suite villa located at the foot of Table Mountain will offer a gym, sauna and yoga shala, becoming a retreat from the city below. In Spain, The Residence by Atzaro, Ibiza is now open. Situated in a 400-year-old finca (ranch), this villa is nestled in the hills in the north of the island. With views over Ibiza, the villa sleeps up to 18 with six suites, living and dining rooms and a kitchen. It also has outdoor living, dining and lounging areas, plus a pool, gym, spa with jacuzzi, sauna and massage room and a yoga shala, all surrounded by Mediterranean gardens.

Note: The Ibiza property also accommodates two client staff suites, a staff house and comes with a housekeeper, cleaners and security.

In Arizona, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa unveiled the results of a series of renovations to its villas. Rebranded as The Villas at Sanctuary, the eight distinctive mountain homes occupy more than an acre of land each and have amenities ranging from private pools and jacuzzis to wrap-around terraces and home theaters. Villa guests are privy to an exclusive package, which includes two of the following: A private guided hike along Camelback Mountain’s Echo or Cholla trail; private Aerial Yoga class; and private Yoga Nidra class, a sleep-guided meditation. The Family Coppola Hideaways just opened Cassa Zenda, a private waterfront villa perched on the banks of Lake Izabal in Guatemala’s Rio Dulce region. Four thatched roof bungalow suites sleep 16 people and are each decorated with custom furnishings complemented by handmade Guatemalan textiles. The layout has open-air lounge spaces with fully equipped bars, a kitchen and an al fresco dining room. An expansive dock with water sport amenities includes WaveRunners, Jet Skis, a Nautique ski boat and 38-foot yacht, plus a saltwater pool with a waterfall and Jacuzzi. Guests have access to a concierge, house manager, house butler, private chef and boat captain.

The Drisco Hotel, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, recently launched The Villa Drisco. Comprising five guestrooms and suites, The Villa Drisco was first built in 1866 by one of the neighborhood’s original American settlers. Despite a full, contemporary renovation, it still retains its nostalgic New England-style architecture, making it stand out among Tel Aviv’s Brutalist, Bauhaus and Eclectic-style buildings.
